For a short beach resort excursion out of Bangkok, Hua Hin is about
three hours by car. It has beautiful beaches and golfing
and is not as "nightlife" oriented as Pattaya.

Recommended places to stay in Bangkok!
|
The most recommended areas to stay are either on
Sukhumvit Road where you will find a wide variety of hotels like the Plaza Athenee,
JW Marriott, Conrad Hilton, Grand Hyatt Erawan and Intercontinental.
Every hotel offers easy access to the Skytrain and subway, which are
a must to avoid the legendary traffic in Bangkok. Another
recommended area to stay is on the Chao Phraya river where hotels
like the Oriental, Peninsula and Shangri-La are located.

The food is spicy hot like the city!
|
The food in Bangkok is incredible. Try the
brunch, lunch or dinner buffets at any of the hotels just for the
experience of so much selection and variety. Thai food can be
excessively Spicy and HOT. So be careful when ordering your
food. Have fine dining at the MezzaLuna Restaurant on the top of the
State Tower Building on Si Lom Road at least once on your
journey. Also, in addition to Thai food, the Chinese and
Japanese food found in Thailand are some of the best in the world.
If you miss western food while on your trip, the Italian style Giusto on Sukhumvit
23 and French style Le Normandie at the
Oriental Hotel are world class.

The Land of Smiles!
|
Lastly, the Thai
people are very friendly! They exhibit genuine warmth to
everyone, but if you take the
time to learn the cupped hand Sawasdee welcome, you will be
treated like family. You will want to come back again and
again because there is something for everyone in Bangkok! It
is truly in a class by itself! It is no wonder Thailand is
called the Land Of Smiles! But you will wonder if the saying
refers to the Thai people or the tourists enjoying every minute of
this incredible city!
